Volunteer adventures have been designed as a way to give even more back to the communities and regions we visit. Travelers can make a direct and very real difference to their quality of life for local communities. The benefits to you are even greater cultural immersion, more time in the community and the ability to take a hands-on approach to bringing about positive changes.
To help you choose the trip that's right for you, we've broken all of our trips down into four service levels, Basic, Standard, Comfort, and Superior.
Each trip is rated 1 to 5 based on physical demands. This rating will help you to choose a trip that is suitable to your level of fitness and maximize your enjoyment.

Brief Itinerary:
Day 1 - Shanghai
Arrive in Shanghai at any time. If you’re feeling adventurous, why not ride on the Maglev Train, which goes over 300kph!
Day 2 - Shanghai
Today is free to explore Shanghai, the most modern of China’s cities, before boarding our overnight train to Luoyang. There is so much to see and do, from admiring the foreign influences of the buildings of the French Concession, to perusing the enormous collection in the Shanghai Museum, to possibly visiting the Yuyuan gardens.
Day 3-4 - Shaolin & Luoyang
We leave the overnight train early this morning in the ancient Song Dynasty capital of Luoyang. After time to freshen up, we head out to a place that is internationally famous and the stuff of legends, the mighty Shaolin Temple with its fighting monks - the home of kung fu.
Day 5 - Xi'an
Taking a train through the rugged landscape of central China, we arrive in Xi’an, where you can absorb the culture and history of this ancient Tang Dynasty capital city. Lying at the beginning of the Silk Road, it is home to many of China’s ethnic minority groups, as well as 6000 unearthed Terracotta Warriors!
Day 6 - Chengdu
Be prepared to try some of the spiciest food in all of China in Chengdu! Sichaun is also famous for its opera and its laid-back tea house culture, which are not to be missed.
Day 7-11 - Bifengxia Panda Centre
The majority of the world’s remaining pandas live in the mountains of Sichuan. China has adopted these playful black and white darlings as their national animal and have formed the Panda Centre at Bigfengxia to help them survive. Early in the morning, we’ll travel north into Sichuan’s mountainous region to begin our volunteer work.
Day 12-13 - Beijing
Tour the thriving capital of Beijing, including an in depth look through the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Admire the view of the rolling countryside while climbing the Great Wall of China!
Day 14 - Beijing
