Inside Group and Conference Coordinator - Calgary (some travel to Edmonton)
Position Type: Full Time
Job Description:
As a member of the Group and Conference division, the Inside Group and Conference Coordinator will require the ability to learn a specialized online conference registration system quickly and thoroughly. This technology will be used to collect, process, and maintain conference registration information vital to the conference planning process. This position will require strong organizational and communication skills. Some travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- Meet with conference planners to discuss contract requirements.
- Source and provide costs regarding airfares, hotels, transportation and other related components for the creation of a budget outline and timetable.
- Liaise with various vendors in relation to the conference requirements.
- Maintain proficiency all areas of our online registration program.
- Communicate comfortably with registrants as related to conference logistics, primarily their travel arrangements.
- Update the conference planner regularly regarding any concerns or issues that may arise.
Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years Travel Consultant experience.
- Familiarity with GDS system.
- Strong organizational and time management skills. Must be detail orientated.
- Proficient with Microsoft office and Internet applications
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.
- Meeting planning and coordination experience an asset.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the accurate and efficient completion of day-to-day accounting functions for UNIGLOBE Geo Travel.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Complete filing of invoices, cheques, payable and reports in a timely manner
- Work in cooperation with other accounting department team members to ensure timely and efficient processing of agency accounting functions
- Work in a proactive and pleasant manner with other agency staff and agency customers
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years experience in a Travel Agency, either in an accounting role or in a Travel Counselor role.
- Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Saturday Receptionist/Administrative Assistant
UNIGLOBE Geo Travel is seeking a reliable Receptionist/Administrative Support person for the Saturday shift. The successful applicant will service the needs of the clients and provide accurate, efficient, and reliable administrative support to the leisure department (and other departments as necessary) of UNIGLOBE Geo Travel. If you consistently WOW customers with your positive attitude and professional manner, then this job might be for you! Two days of on-the-job training will take place during the week prior to the first Saturday shift.
Responsibilities:
- Answer internal and external telephone calls in a timely and professional manner.
- Attend to overflow calls, take messages or transfer according to client request in a timely, professional and effective manner.
- Open and distribute incoming email and faxes
- Ensure that office-opening procedures are completed in a timely manner, as required.
- Attend departmental and general staff meetings as required.
- Greet agency guests in a friendly and professional manner and direct them to appropriate personnel.

Catering to all the accessory needs of the traveler, our retail store requires energetic, efficient, self motivated and dedicated personnel. Previous retail experience is preferred. travel industry experience, and/or schooling is not necessary. Customer service skills, telephone manners, minimal office duties, some reception work and basic computer knowledge is necessary. Professionalism is a must! We do offer on the job training. We are looking for personnel who can work a min. 3 days per week, including Saturdays. Candidates must be available to work days, up to 6pm as we are not open evenings.
