Tanzania offers an incredible diversity -
national parks teeming with wildlife, magnificent scenery, the awesome
Mt Kilimanjaro and just off the coast, the delightful island of Zanzibar.
This safari gives a wonderful balance of the best of wild Tanzania and
the relaxing 'Spice Island'.
ITINERARY:
Day 1, NAIROBI Arrive and transfer to your hotel in Nairobi.
The remainder of the day is free for you to relax after your flight
or explore this vibrant African city.
Day 2, NAIROBI - ARUSHA We depart early and make our way from
Nairobi across the border into Tanzania, heading for Arusha, nestled
in the shadow of Mt Meru. (LD)
Day 3, TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK Leaving Arusha we head to
Tarangire National Park, which has the highest concentration of game
outside of the Serengeti ecosystem. We enjoy morning and afternoon
game drives. (BLD)
Days 4-5, SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK Today we move on to the
Serengeti, one of the best known wildlife areas in the world. The
park is host to the spectacular annual migration of wildebeest in
late May or early June. Daily game drives. (BLD)
Days 6-7, NGORONGORO CRATER We drive to the Ngorongoro Crater
via Olduvai Gorge, where fossil remains dating back 1.75 million
years were found. The crater is teeming with wildlife and birdlife.
We descend into the crater on Day 6 using 4x4 vehicles for a full
day of game viewing. (BLD)
Day 8, ARUSHA We return to Arusha. Free day. (BL)
Day 9, DAR ES SALAAM Travel to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania's
largest and most vibrant city. Free day to explore. (B)
Days 10-14, ZANZIBAR This morning we take a ferry across to
Zanzibar Island, otherwise known as the 'Spice Island'. Zanzibar is
a cultural melting pot of African, Arabic and Indian cultures,
renowned for its spices and we have five nights to spend in this
romantic place, where you can relax on the white sandy beaches,
swim in the warm turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean or take
various excursions to explore the island. (B)
Day 15, DAR ES SALAAM - We return to Dar Es Salaam. Tour ends. (B)
