What does Voluntourism mean?
Voluntourism is a different way to travel and experience a country.  Visit exquisite countries, experience the culture and customs, enjoy the food and the people; and spend time volunteering and helping the local community.

How am I helping a community in a third world country? Do I have to donate money?
Time is the greatest gift. While some of the Voluntourism experiences that are offered do have donation and fundraising programs - you are not expected to donate anything additional from the cost of your trip.

I am not a nurse, dentist or have any other professional designation; can I still participate?
All of our Voluntourism trips are open to everyone. From students to teachers, from construction workers to politicians everyone is welcome to be a part of Voluntourism. These trips are created to provide the opportunity for travelers to help the local communities they visit.

How old do I have to be to participate on a Voluntourism trip?
Most of our trips are for all ages. From 8 years old to 80 years old, there are opportunities for the whole family.

What are the accommodations like?
The accommodations range from basic and group sharing hotels to comfort level hotels.

What type of volunteer work is available?
Educational, health, wildlife and environment conservation projects and infrastructure projects.

Do I have to be in shape to participate?
Each trip has different physical demands depending on the type of volunteering. There are opportunities for everyone.

I want to volunteer the majority of time on the trip, are there trips available?
We have volunteer trips that consist of 80% of your time volunteering and 20% free time.

I want to volunteer but still have a holiday and tour the country. Are there trips available?
We have trips that spend 20% of your time volunteering and 80% for travel.

Can I volunteer for more than 2 weeks on a long-stay trip?
We have trips that are 7 days long to trips that are up to 1 year.

Can I combine 2 or more Voluntourism trips?
Yes. Our Voluntourism Travel Specialists can help customize your ideal Voluntourism experience.

Can I combine a Voluntourism trip with another non-Voluntourism tour?  
Yes. Our Voluntourism travel specialists are able to customize your trip to include both Voluntourism and any other travel or tour requirements you may need.

To CREATE MY OWN GROUP, how many people do I need?
If you'd like to create an exclusive volunteer trip, all you need are 10 participants. By creating your own group, we can request exclusive dates and your friends, family or co-workers be the only participants in the group.
