UNIGLOBE Geo Gives Back – Supporting Our Communities
 |
UNIGLOBE Geo Travel and UNIGLOBE Geo Travel staff support are actively involved in the community and support various charities throughout the year. Our largest office in Edmonton holds a monthly “Jeans Day” where staff donate $5 to a charity in exchange for wearing jeans that day. Staff are encouraged to suggest the charities for the monthly “Jeans Days”, and as a result, have supported a variety of different charities, including:
• Plan International
• The Weekend to End Breast Cancer
• The Mustard Seed – Edmonton
• CIBC Run for the Cure
• The Special Olympics
• The Hope Classic in support of Spina Bifida research
• UNICEF
UNIGLOBE Geo Travel also hosts an annual Sue Foy Golf Tournament. The proceeds for the Sue Foy Golf Tournament go to support the Alberta Cross Cancer Institute. |
UNIGLOBE Geo Travel supports Plan International (formerly The Foster Parents’ Plan). The ownership team and staff support over 50 children around the world, and this is facilitated by the ability to sponsor a child from Plan International through payroll deductions.
One of our owners, Beverley DeSantis, is an avid supporter of Plan International. She also supports the Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta (KCCFA) that invests in research for cures of cancers in children. Beverley DeSantis fundraises for and participates in the Trico Homes Ride for a Lifetime every year to show her support.
For many years, UNIGLOBE Geo Travel staff have participated in Servus Credit Union Bowl for Special Olympics in Edmonton by fundraising, forming teams and bowling with the Special Olympians

UNIGLOBE Geo Travel Contributes $17,500 to Haiti
 |
Once a month a Jeans Day is held to support a charity. Each staff member that chooses to wear jeans donates $5 towards that particular charity. UNIGLOBE Geo Travel Staff came together to help support the cause in Haiti on Jeans Day this January.
Together, we raised $17,500 to help the people of Haiti.
Our donation to Plan International has helped provide food to 1,500 families every day, distribute 4,000 tents and 300 family kits, and provide psychosocial support to children who have been traumatized by the devastating quake.
If you would like to donate, please click here. |
