Community Involvement

Active in our community, we support a number of local charities, including, but not limited to: The United Way, Easter Seals Ability Council, Plan International (AKA Foster Parents Plan), Special Olympics Edmonton and the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

We support these charities by encouraging our staff to participate in fundraising events and through in kind donations at many charitable events each year. We believe in contributing in emotional as well as financial ways, and as such, currently sponsor over 40 children though Plan International through financial means and emotional support through letter writing.

We also hold a Jeans Day once a month to support a local charity. Each staff member that chooses to wear jeans on that day donates $5 towards the charity chosen that month. With a staff of over 60 in Edmonton alone, these donations add up very quickly!

These are only a couple examples of our community involvement. We are constantly looking for new ways to give back, involve staff and support a great cause.

UNIGLOBE Geo Travel Contributes $17,500 to Haiti

Once a month a Jeans Day is held to support a charity. Each staff member that chooses to wear jeans donates $5 towards that particular charity. UNIGLOBE Geo Travel Staff came together to help support the cause in Haiti on Jeans Day this January. Together, we raised $17,500 to help the people of Haiti. Our donation to Plan International has helped provide food to 1,500 families every day, distribute 4,000 tents and 300 family kits, and provide psychosocial support to children who have been traumatized by the devastating quake.
